Everton Trio Design Charity T-Shirts To Support Mental Health Campaign
Everton stars Richarlison, Lucas Digne and Jordan Pickford have got creative to design their own range of limited edition charity t-shirts with the hope of raising vital funds for a proposed new mental health facility close to Goodison Park.
Each player worked with designers from the Club’s retail partner Fanatics to craft a t-shirt that reflected something about themselves, with proceeds set to boost Everton in the Community’s ‘The People’s Place’ campaign.
The t-shirts, priced at £20, were only finalised last week but Fanatics’ commitment to launch the range as quickly as possible has seen them go on sale at Everton One, Everton Two and online via evertondirect.com from today (Friday, February 15).
Goalkeeper Pickford mixed his love of music and football to develop his ‘Ministry of Saves’ t-shirt, while vibrant colour brings Richarlison’s portrait offering to life.
Left-back Digne, meanwhile, sought inspiration from his own goal celebration and a teddy bear tattoo he has on his right arm.
Everton announced it had expanded its partnership with Fanatics on Thursday after agreeing a long-term deal with the licensed sports merchandise giants.
“I think it’s a very good design for Everton and my music taste,” said England international Pickford. “It’s been great to work so well with Bradley, the designer, who’s a mad Everton fan.
“I think it’s been quite successful and I hope the fans agree and buy the t-shirt.”
Digne added: “It’s a really cool thing to do and it’s for the charity, too.
“I picked a teddy bear because I have a tattoo of one on my arm and there is also a nod to my wife in there as well.
“It’s perfect and I hope my t-shirt flies out, makes the most money and is the most popular!”
Everton in the Community launched The People’s Place campaign last August, outlining plans to develop, build and maintain a new purpose-built mental health facility that will become a delivery site for its programmes and enable signposting to other services on Merseyside.
The building, subject to planning permission, will be positioned within the Goodison campus adjacent to the People’s Hub on Spellow Lane – just 500 metres from Goodison Park.
