Ancelotti Proves Everton Project Is On The Road – Lucas Digne

Everton left back Lucas Digne thinks that the appointment of Carlo Ancelotti proves that the ‘Everton Project’ that Farhad Moshiri started when he bought the club in 2016 is now moving on the right track. The french international has been impressed with Ancelotti and cited the results under the Italian means that the feel good factor is back at Finch Farm.

Speaking to Digne said :

“We went into the break in good form, having won five and drawn two of our past eight Premier League games. We are in a good way and we have to continue like this. I think that everybody feels very good and we feel more confident.”

“We have a manager who has won a lot of trophies in his career and he has this mentality. He is a winner. He can help us a lot because he has a lot of experience and can give a lot of advice.”

“He is very cool and very calm. He is close to the players and he wants to speak with everybody, to have a closer relationship with everybody, and he is really important.”

“I think if a coach like him comes to Everton you can see the project is on the road. We have the plans for the new stadium in a few years, too.”

“We are building something here.”

Digne was also full of praise for the Evertonians he called ‘amazing’ and feels that they help to make Goodison Park a fortress. He said :

“When you represent Everton, you have the privilege of being backed by our amazing fans too.”

“Goodison is amazing. It is our fortress and you feel stronger because everybody is behind you and you feel that support. It is totally crazy because everybody is close to the pitch and I think for an away team it is really hard at Goodison.”

“Our next game is away at Arsenal and I know our amazing fans will be there supporting us, too. It is such a big help for the team.”

“We will work hard and prepare well for that game as we aim to continue our good run. We are looking to move forward and go higher in the league. I’m confident we can do that.”
